Royal Enfield is getting ready to roll out its all-new motorcycle by the end of April, 2020. As of now, details of the bike are very scanty. The new RE bike has been codenamed Royal Enfield J1D. It could be the replacement to the new-generation Thunderbird (Meteor) or the smaller (250cc), more affordable version of the RE Himalayan. Recently, the Chennai-based bikemaker trademarked multiple names including Sherpa, Hunter, Flying Flea and Roadster. The company is also working on the new-generation model of its 350cc motorcycles, namely, Bullet 350, Classic 350 and Thunderbird X 350. All three bikes will be based on a new platform and come with updated mechanism. Some noticeable design changes will also be made. The 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird is likely to be christened as Royal Enfield Meteor. It might also get a bigger capacity engine. Talking about Royal Enfield’s new affordable bike, it will be lightweight and offer lower sitting position. Codenamed J1C, the motorcycle might posses some off-road capabilities. It could feature the conventional telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock rear suspension unit. There might be front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).
