The heat of summer can often accelerate our mind and heat our body. Yoga reduces your body temperature in a natural manner. It is very important to pay attention to these sensations and incorporate a slower, more focused practice into our daily yoga routine. Certain yoga poses have the capability to lower the temperature of your body and cool it down. Here are Baddha Konasana - Butterfly Pose Badhakonasana is also popularly known as the Butterfly Pose because of the movement of the legs during the posture, giving the appearance of a butterfly flapping its wings. Targeting primarily the legs, it is the perfect antidote to relax and stretch the muscles of the legs. This yoga pose will relax your body, mind and soul that will comfort your tired feet. Anjaneyasana - Crescent Pose Anjaneyasana is a deep lunge. It provides a powerful stretch to the groin, quads, and iliopsoas of the back leg. The front leg receives a different but still deep stretch, along with strength work. Matsyasana - Fish Pose Fish Pose is a back-bending yoga posture that opens the chest, throat, and abdomen. It is usually used as the counter-pose to Shoulderstand (Sarvangasana) because it neutralizes pressure on the neck and spine, but it is also a deep stretch with many benefits in its own. The name of the posture derives from the fact that if you adopt the position in water, you will float quite easily. Try to hold the pose for half of the time that you spent in the Shoulderstand, in order to equalize the stretching effects on your spine ans muscles. Ustrasana - Camel Pose Camel Pose (Ustrasana) is a backbending yoga posture that opens the entire front side of the body. It is an intermediate level back-bending yoga posture known to open Anahata (Heart Chakra). This yoga posture adds flexibility and strength to the body and also helps in improving digestion. The name comes from the Sanskrit words Ushtra meaning "camel" and Asana meaning "posture" or "seat". Viparita Karani - Legs up the Wall Pose The Viparita Karani is a mild inversion and is also called the Inverted Lake Pose. Viparita Karani is known to diminish wrinkles and it can make you look younger. This posture will make your blood flow into various parts of your body that requires it. Viparita Karani is often done at the end of a yoga practice, before the final relaxation pose (Savasana) or meditation. Padangusthasana - Big Toe Pose The Big Toe Pose or the Padangusthasana is one of the easier poses in yoga. It is one of the few poses that will help you to stretch all your muscles from head to toe. Padahastasana, or the standing forward bend is an inverted posture which provides many of the same benefits of the seated forward bend. Sitali Pranayama - Cooling Breath Technique In Sanskrit, the word sitali means "cooling," and this breath has an immediate cooling effect. Inhaling into the moisture of your tongue makes your mouth—and whole body—feel a nice inner breeze. Sit in a comfortable position with a tall spine. Breathe in and out, and pay attention to the flow of your breath at the tip of your nose.
